Qatar Airways Transfer Bonus October 2026: Get Up to 35% Bonus Avios

Qatar Airways Privilege Club promotion offering up to 35% bonus Avios on partner point transfers in October 2026

Qatar Airways Privilege Club has launched a new points transfer promotion offering 15%, 25% or 35% bonus Avios when members convert eligible partner reward points into Qatar Airways Avios during October 2026.

The promotion runs from 1 October to 31 October 2026 and is available through a long list of participating partners around the world. For UK readers, however, the most interesting option is very clear: Capital on Tap.

There are also four participating hotel loyalty programmes listed as eligible globally: ALL Accor, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Shangri-La Circle and World of Hyatt.

How the Qatar Airways transfer bonus works

The percentage you receive depends on how many Avios are generated by a single conversion transaction.

Tier 1

Up to 49,999 Avios

15% bonus

Example: 40,000 Avios becomes 46,000.

Tier 2

50,000 to 99,999 Avios

25% bonus

Example: 50,000 Avios becomes 62,500.

Tier 3

100,000 Avios or more

35% bonus

Example: 100,000 Avios becomes 135,000.

This is important because Qatar Airways calculates the bonus per transaction. Separate transfers are not added together to reach a higher tier.

If you can legitimately convert 100,000 Avios in one transaction, splitting that into two transfers of 50,000 would therefore be a mistake. Two 50,000 transfers would each receive a 25% bonus, whereas one 100,000 transfer would qualify for the 35% tier.

The UK option: Capital on Tap

Capital on Tap is the only partner in Qatar Airways’ promotion specifically listed for the United Kingdom.

That makes this offer particularly interesting for UK business owners who already hold Capital on Tap reward points and were planning to turn them into Avios.

Capital on Tap currently offers two different Avios conversion rates:

  • Pro: 1 Capital on Tap point = 1 Avios
  • Free: 10 Capital on Tap points = 8 Avios

You can read my full Capital on Tap Business Credit Card UK guide here.

Capital on Tap Pro

Examples

Pro cardholders convert at 1 point to 1 Avios, so the thresholds are simple.

40,000 points

40,000 Avios before bonus

6,000 bonus Avios

Total received: 46,000 Avios

50,000 points

50,000 Avios before bonus

12,500 bonus Avios

Total received: 62,500 Avios

100,000 points

100,000 Avios before bonus

35,000 bonus Avios

Total received: 135,000 Avios

For Pro cardholders, the thresholds are therefore particularly easy to understand. A transfer of 50,000 points reaches the 25% band, while 100,000 points reaches the maximum 35% bonus.

Capital on Tap Free

Examples

The Free card converts at 10 points to 8 Avios, so you need more Capital on Tap points to reach the Qatar Airways thresholds.

50,000 points

40,000 Avios before bonus

6,000 bonus Avios

Total received: 46,000 Avios

62,500 points

50,000 Avios before bonus

12,500 bonus Avios

Total received: 62,500 Avios

125,000 points

100,000 Avios before bonus

35,000 bonus Avios

Total received: 135,000 Avios

So a Free cardholder needs 62,500 Capital on Tap points to reach the 25% tier and 125,000 points to reach the 35% tier.

I tested the Capital on Tap transfer myself

I also made a small test transfer on 2 October 2026 to make sure the promotion was working as advertised.

I redeemed 5,000 Avios from Capital on Tap to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Qatar credited 5,750 Avios, which is exactly the expected 15% bonus for a transfer below 50,000 Avios.

My test transfer

5,000 Avios transferred + 15% bonus = 5,750 Avios credited

My 2 October 2026 test transfer: 5,000 Avios deducted from Capital on Tap and 5,750 Avios credited by Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

The screenshots provide a useful real-world check that the 15% tier is being applied correctly to eligible Capital on Tap transfers.

What about American Express Membership Rewards in the UK?

This is probably the most important exclusion for many UK points collectors.

American Express Membership Rewards points can normally be transferred directly to Qatar Airways Privilege Club at a rate of 1 Membership Rewards point = 1 Avios, but American Express is not listed as a participating partner in this October promotion.

That means a normal UK Amex to Qatar Airways transfer does not qualify for the 15%, 25% or 35% bonus.

I would not route Amex points through a hotel programme simply to try to access this promotion. The conversion losses can easily outweigh the bonus. Transfer bonuses only make sense when the underlying conversion rate still gives you acceptable value.

Which global partners are included?

Qatar Airways lists four hotel programmes as participating globally:

  • ALL Accor
  • IHG Hotels & Resorts
  • Shangri-La Circle
  • World of Hyatt

These are potentially available to UK members as well because Qatar Airways labels them as Global rather than tying them to a particular country.

ALL Accor

ALL Reward points can currently be converted to Qatar Airways Avios at a rate of 2,000 ALL Reward points = 1,500 Avios.

The October bonus improves the number of Avios you receive, but I would still compare the value of the ALL points with the value you expect to get from the Avios before transferring.

IHG One Rewards

IHG currently allows members to convert 10,000 IHG One Rewards points into 2,000 Qatar Airways Avios.

That is not normally a conversion I would rush to make, particularly if you can get good value from IHG reward nights. Even with a bonus of up to 35%, the starting conversion ratio matters.

If you are considering it, compare the numbers with my 2026 IHG point valuation before moving a large balance.

World of Hyatt and Shangri-La Circle

Both programmes are included by Qatar Airways as Global participating partners. As with IHG and Accor, I would treat the bonus as an extra incentive only if converting hotel points already made sense for you.

Hotel points can often be more valuable when used for hotel stays, so the headline 35% bonus should not be viewed in isolation.

Other participating partners around the world

The campaign is much broader than the UK. Qatar Airways also lists participating banks and reward programmes in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Thailand and the United States.

Examples include Citibank in the US, CIMB in Malaysia, UOB in Thailand, Emirates NBD and Dubai Islamic Bank in the UAE, plus a number of Gulf-based banking and loyalty programmes.

The exact transfer ratio is controlled by each participating partner, so the same 35% Qatar Airways bonus can represent very different value depending on where the original points come from.

When does the offer end?

The Qatar Airways campaign runs until 31 October 2026 at 23:59 GMT+3.

Bonus Avios are due to be credited to eligible Privilege Club accounts by 30 November 2026.

Transfers are irreversible once the Avios have been credited, so I would make sure you have a sensible use for the Avios before moving a large points balance.

My view for UK readers

For the UK, the most compelling part of this promotion is Capital on Tap.

If you already have Capital on Tap points and intended to convert them to Qatar Airways Privilege Club anyway, an extra 15% to 35% is a meaningful improvement. The 35% tier is particularly attractive for Pro users with 100,000 points available in one transaction.

The global hotel partners are less straightforward. IHG, ALL Accor, World of Hyatt and Shangri-La Circle points all have their own potential value, and a transfer bonus does not automatically make converting them into Avios a good deal.

The other thing to remember is that American Express Membership Rewards is not part of the promotion. Despite Qatar Airways being a direct Amex UK transfer partner, those transfers do not receive the October bonus.

As always, I would start with the redemption you want to make, check availability, work out how many Avios you actually need, and only then decide whether transferring points makes sense. You can also read my guide to how I use points transfer bonuses for the approach I take before moving flexible points.
